Don’t you just love it when all heck breaks loose?

This post is called the "I have an emergency and need to fix some things" post.  Many of you that are reading this are subscribed to the TechCast Weekly RSS feed.  Read on to find out why you’re receiving this and see how important it is to always know what you’re doing before trying something new.

Don’t you just love it when everything seems to be going ok and then suddenly, POOF!

That’s what happened to me this morning.

I woke up not feeling so well, then things got even worse. At this point, I have to admit some deficiencies to you.  While I do have a fairly extensive knowledge on many subjects relating to technology, databases are not my strong point.  And databases are what run many of my sites, although pretty much unseen to me after the initial setup.

It’s one of these databases that I’d like to speak to you about today.

I was trying to install a new feature on the TechCast Weekly site and apparently I’ve completely demolished the database structure that runs the TechCast.

Basically if you visit the TechCast home page, you get taken to a really great deal on a HDTV from J and R Music and Computer World.

And although I do enjoy the specials from J and R, plus I’m a partner with them, I don’t want you going there if you don’t want to.  Especially if you’re trying to get to the TechCast Weekly site.

So, the TechCast Site is down, for now.  However,

I’ll be redirecting the subscription feeds from one of my other sites, PikeMall Tech (yeah, the one that started it all), to make sure everyone is still receiving updates.

I’ll be reposting several items and a couple of podcasts back to the site, just to help people out so they don’t feel like they’re being left out.  The content on PikeMall Tech is a little bit "more geekified" than the material on the TechCast.  So I don’t want to alienate anyone.

This also means that you may see some posts you’ve already seen or get some podcasts downloaded again that you already have.  If that’s the case, my apologies.

I’ll also be redirecting all TechCast traffic to PikeMall Tech until the situation is resolved.

Thanks for all your support and thanks for putting up with my little screw-ups.  Hopefully, it makes you feel better to know that you’re not the only one that can do a bang-up job of messing things up.
