CompUSA offers Money Back Guarantee if you don’t like Vista
For those of you that may be a little hesitant about upgrading to Vista on or after the 30th of January, take heart. The friendly (and opportunistic) folks at CompUSA have the solution that may work great for you. CompUSA announced their “Windows Vista Experience Guarantee” to give customers a great Windows Vista experience or give them their money back.
Just bring in your computer to any CompUSA store before January 29th at 3 PM and you’ll get a free Vista evaluation of their computer. Or you can do the same thing on your own with Microsoft’s Vista Upgrade Advisor. Completely up to you, but it might be nice to have someone else tell you that there’s no way you can run Vista on that old clunker PC of yours.
After you’ve had the evaluation you can purchase the software installation at a reduced price. If you’re not totally satisfied with Vista, you’ll get your money back and your old OS back. Seems like a great deal.
Unless you’re CompUSA and this thing (Vista) falls flat on it’s face at launch. What happens if the majority of the people who get Vista can’t stand it? What if they just can’t do without the “My” in “My Pictures”?
Time will only tell, but this is either a great move by CompUSA or one of the dumbest things any retailer has ever done. I’m not sure I’d bet my companies sales on someone else’s untried and untested brand-new product. Disaster could strike.
